Expanding farming business
Together with the ministry Kallie is also developing a farming business with several projects. The farming has various goals:
1. To provide in some of the need of ESM like milk , maize , meat , eggs etc. This greatly helps with the sustainabality of ESM.
2. To provide an independent income for Kallie and Charmain. In doing so it helps to ease the great financial burden on ESM.
3. To involve some of the older children in the farming. This helps these children to develop farming skills which might help them caring for themselves and their families in future.
Some of the activities on the farm are cows (for milk and meat) , a rapidly expanding piggery , maize crops etc. Kallie is also experimenting with chicken and rabbits as well as different fruit orchards and vegetable gardens.
The children love to be involved in the farming at ESM.

Piggery is growing
The number of breeding sows on the farm is growing rapidly. Here is one of the sows with the handful of piglets she gave birth to just the previous day.
